Vertical bone augmentation in posterior maxilla
This is a case of vertical bone augmentation in posterior maxilla. The goal of treatment was to avoid having long prosthetic teeth. A titanium foil ,preshaped on 3d model and fixed with osteosynthesis screws, was used with the characteristic of being occlusive for the bacteria in such a way as to tolerate any exposure. A mix of autologous bone taken with a bone scraper and heterologous bone was used as graft. The removal of the foil took place at 7 months with extensive formation of new bone covered by a layer of pseudo periosteum.
