I Classified 3 types of denture movement by the direction from Home Position (HP).
HP is the position of upper and lower complete dentures in the physiologic rest position of mandibular. In HP the denture is received no mechanical stress. So it is sure to be stable on the ridge in HP.
The 3 types are ①Floating (浮きUKI) ②Shifting (ズレZURE) ③Sinking (沈みShizumi).
By understanding the 3 types of the movement, it is possible to correctly diagnose disorders and pain by the denture and adjust the denture appropriately.
