Minimally invasive nonsurgical therapy for periodontal intraosseous defect with photoablative 2780-nm Er,Cr:YSGG laser and photodynamic 660-nm diode laser

Photoablative 2780-nm Er,Cr:YSGG laser was applied for sulcular debridement prior to complete root surface debridement with specific thin and delicate piezo-electric tips and minicurettes under microscopes. Antimicrobial photodynamic 660-nm diode laser was then utilized to inhibit highly pathogenic bacteria. The final step was photocoagulation with Er,Cr:YSGG laser to improve blood clot stability. Gingival crepping was noted post one year with bone density improved.
