External root resorption - No-Surgical & Surgical Approach

Clinical steps of approaching an invasive external resorption in a lower molar A healthy 55-year-old patient complained of pain in the 4th quadrant. Diagnosis of pulpal necrosis in tooth 47 with acute apical abscess. Presence of radiographic image compatible with external resorption in the mesial root of the tooth 47. CBCT exam requisition. Treatment plan: 1st session: surgical exposure of the resorption; removal of granulation tissue; curettage of affected dentin and clastic tissue; application of trichloroacetic acid; pre-flaring of the root canal; introduction of a gutta-percha cone in the canal lumen; restoration of the resorption zone with glass ionomer cement; closure of the flap and suture; rubber dam insulation; root canal system preparation with waveone gold system; intra-canal calcium hydroxide medication; temporary restoration. 2nd session: final protocol of conformation, calibration and disinfection; continuous wave obturation technique.
