An occlusal stamp is made out of blockout resin on the intact occlusal surface prior to preparation. Care is taken not to extend beyond the marginal ridgesSectional matrices are placed and the proximal walls are built as thinly as possible to allow reseating of the resin stampThe rings and matrices are removed and the dentin layer is polymerized. An overfilled enamel layer is placed and teflon tape is laid over it.The occlusal stamp is firmly seated creating detailed anatomy. The advantage of the teflon is the ability to remove it while the resin is uncured. This allows for removal of excess material and further manipulation of the surface if desired.Occlusal anatomy reproduced
